26 Things I Learned about Being 26

  1. Just because someone says they want to marry you does not mean that they are capable of a lifelong commitment.
  2. Love isn't supposed to feel like an additional full-time job.
  3. Actions speak louder than words. Every. Time.
  4. Getting angry with God led me to healing.
  5. Life is hard.
  6. Trust is everything. If you can't trust someone, it's really hard to love them unconditionally.
  7. Cowardice is a despicable trait.
  8. Uber is safe. I wish they didn't have my phone number though.
  9. Trusting God is everything.
  10. Mother Mary WILL take care of you.
  11. This world is not overpopulated.
  12. Taking care of yourself is imperative. As in, you do not have a choice. Sooner or later, your non-stop go mode will stop you in your tracks.
  13. Spiritual direction is not the same thing as talking to a professional mental health professional. Take care of yourself spiritually AND mentally!
  14. Carmelite spirituality is unique and beautiful.
  15. I still enjoy building Legos, coloring, and making sticker collages.
  16. Taking ballet classes again is one of the best decisions I've made this year.
  17. Learn something new daily.
  18. Focus is shifting from Millennials to Generation Z. Thank goodness.
  19. Sometimes, years of suffering are necessary for your refinement and preparation for your mission and vocation in life.
  20. Drinking one cup of coffee and no more is best for me.
  21. I hope I never take a good night's sleep for granted again.
  22. Sometimes, people get what's coming to them.
  23. God loves me even when I'm not perfect. (Whew!)
  24. Confession helps with more than just confessing your sins. (You can confess that you're having trouble forgiving, for example. Very healing!)
  25. I don't have to DO things in order to be loved.
  26. 26 was one of the worst and best years of my life. Life is messy. And I'm so thankful to be alive. Thank you God! ❤❤❤
