Spring Fashion 2015 Part II

Image
+ J.M.J. Welcome to Part II of Stephanie's Spring Fashion series review! The theme of this blog is blouses and then there are two accessories at the end. BLOUSES This blouse is so soft and flowy. I didn't use to wear things like this as I preferred a more fitted look, but there is something eminently feminine about this style. The darker color appears to fit colder months, so this would be a good transition piece from winter to spring.   Funny story about this one. I tried to order it and then an error occurred. I decided I wasn't meant to have this blouse. Oh well. *Sigh* I like it because it's fitted and flowy simultaneously because of the tucks in the waist area. Note to self: I really must find a different word to use besides "flowy" sometimes.   This is a really fun print. You might get tired of it if you wear it repetitively, so just mix and match with accessories and even footwear.   This color is very striking. Make sure t

Movie Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

+ J.M.J. I originally watched this movie for a very shallow reason that I feel rather ashamed to admit, but here it is: I heard that the main actor was good-looking. Okay. I said it. Now I feel better. Yes, Chris Evans is handsome. Better than that, though, he has a heart of gold. He fights for the right causes. He has an old friend who has gone so far into evil practices (Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier himself) that he doesn't even remember who Steve Rogers (Captain America) is anymore. This film is action-packed and has a ton of violence. I don't usually watch this genre but read the reason above if you want to be reminded of my motive for this one. It had a good message overall, of fighting for what you believe to be the right course of action. So many times in our lives, we can lose sight of what the right cause is. We used to know, but we lost sight of that in the swirling culture of what's "popular" and "in." Let me tell you something:

Spring Fashion 2015 Part I

Image
+ J.M.J. Hey there! I had a request to do more fashion posts, so here you go! This is part I of a series because spring is such a fun time and there are so many options out there! I am here to sift through them for you to help you discover a look of your own that is functional, stylish, modest, and feminine. What a fun belt! I don't often wear belts. The darker wash of jeans dresses up the whole outfit. This is a lot of orange, but it works because the neutral white and denim balances it all out. The flats are so cute. A handbag is essential, and a scarf is still acceptable and useful in springtime weather. This one is more dressed up and dressed down at the same time. It is a perfect blend of chic and casual. The top is so feminine and "flowy," yet the jacket gives it a very tailored and finished look. The lighter wash of jeans makes this outfit not too dressed up, but you could also wear darker denim or slacks if you were going somewhere very fancy.

Happy Valentine's Day! (One Day Early)

Image
+ J.M.J. Happy Valentine's Day! Many of you may know that this day started all because of a guy named Valentine. Find out more about him here:  http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/ValentinesDay/origins.asp Back to my real reason for posting. You know I always have one. St. Valentine is the reason why we have this holiday. About a month ago I walked into the grocery store and it was like Valentine's Day had exploded in there, with so much pink, red, and glitter to catch the eye it was almost too much. I love Valentine's Day, I really do. (I didn't always like it, mind.)  I think that no matter how you feel about February the fourteenth, you can look at it as an opportunity to love those that are important to you. To also love those who aren't important to you, because that is the greatest accomplishment there is.  Happy Valentine's Day, one day early. May God bless you. And please, please, please, don't go see Fifty Shades of Grey. Look at m
