Scarf

+ J.M.J. I have too many scarves. You can still wear them in springtime (I can feel, it's almost here!) The thing I love about scarves is that they cover more of you. It's a great layering technique and, when done right, looks tasteful. It's time to start transitioning to the lighter fabrics. The dead of winter is over! Thank you God! God bless you! Stephanie

For Ladies: Modesty in Fall Fashion

Image
+ J.M.J. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The air grows crisp, leaves change into beautiful hues of gold, brown, and ruby, and pumpkins and apple cider surround me. Another thing that excites me about this time of year is fashion! Why? Because of boots, scarves, and layering. Lovely. I just wanted to point something out, though. In the fall, there tends to be more skin covered up because the air is getting colder. However, there is a trend going wild out there when the weather gets colder. I'm sure you've seen it, or even tried it. It's called "wearing leggings as pants." I think that leggings are fine, and are great for putting under a shorter skirt. But leggings are not pants. Leggings fit as tight as, well, tights. Would you think it's okay to wear just tights and a shirt? I wouldn't. I see leggings as the same. The only difference is that they don't cover your feet. They can go past your knees or down to your ankles; it ...

Your Skin is Showing

Let's face it, ladies: too much skin revealed to the world is just not flattering! Leave some things to the imagination, and even when it comes to that, don't let the imagination run wild! Don't wear sheer tops to entice. Don't wear pants that look like they're painted on. Come on, it's just not classy. You owe it to yourself and your dignity to cover yourself up. This doesn't mean that you have to look frumpy. There are ways to take current trends and adapt them (because you just have to sometimes) and look totally in-style. I always wear an undershirt under my shirt in case it's too low or not long enough, etc.  Shade Clothing  is a great resource for these. Make sure that your pants are tight enough to show that you are a woman (by the shape of your legs) but not so tight that you can see every curve. If the back of your shirt plummets, wear your hair down. Long hair can be modest sometimes! Don't cover up too much. What do I mean by this? D...

What to Wear...to the Christmas dance!

This is the necklace I got to wear with my dress. I bought it from Macy's. It was on sale for only $7! These earrings were at Claire's. They were having some kind of deal with buy one, get one 50% off, so I got these for $2.25. Such a steal! Last but not least, my dress! I wore this for a musical I was in recently, and they kindly let me borrow it. It is slightly above the knee.
