Movie Review: Love's Unfolding Dream

Image
Love's Unfolding Dream is another movie in the Janette Oke series. You're probably noticing a pattern here. I'll try to do a Jane Austen one next, unless something else catches my fancy first. This movie is both romantic and inspiring. Belinda, Missie's adopted daughter, wants to become a doctor. She is persevering and quite able to do the job, but Doc Jackson is of the opinion that women should stay home. Drew Simpson, her love interest, shares Doc's view. Despite all odds and differing opinions, Belinda changes the minds of those around her and even wins over a wealthy dowager. The ending I'll leave for you to discover, but as always, dreams come true in the most unexpected ways. Here's the main character, Belinda. No wonder she fell in love with Drew. The picture's small, but here's Doc. She's so good at what she does. You will find out that your dreams can come true, despite the odds. Even if it seems like your life is unr

Movie Review: Love Takes Wing

Image
In Love Takes Wing , the Janette Oke series of movies continues. A terrible plague is spreading throughout a tiny town in Missouri. Someone thinks that the disease came from the orphanage and thinks that it should be shut down. Belinda, a brave woman doctor, tries to solve the problem of the sickness. She's in danger of falling love with the town blacksmith, Lee Owens. Belinda has an assistant who happens to be one of her best friends. Together, they try to solve the problem of the cholera. This is the woman who runs the orphanage. A feisty orphan is a big help, but she's got a big hole in her heart. The handsome Lee Owens! Watch and realize that God remembers you, even when you may forget Him.

New Year's Resolutions

Image
I've been thinking on my new year's resolutions, seeing as it's almost 2013 and all. Seeing as the world didn't end on December 21st and all. As you can see in the picture above, two women are exercising. I'd like to become more fit this year. When I was in a musical recently, I lost some weight. I don't want to gain all that back, if I haven't already. In fact, I'd like to become more trim and slim. I'm not overweight, but I'd like that fit, healthy look. However, to achieve that, I need a specific plan. I do go to dances once or twice a month, but that isn't enough. So how often should you exercise? Well, I did some research. Cardio exercise can be done three to five times a week for twenty to sixty minutes. I read that you should give yourself at least one full day off from your routine. Also, don't forget to stretch! My information came from this link . So my exercise schedule could look something like this: Monday 20 min. Wednesd

Day After Christmas

Image
It's the day after Christmas. People are enjoying their gifts, enjoying their days off, and...taking down their Christmas trees and decorations. All Christmas carols are off the radio. It's back to regular music. According to the secular world, it's time to think about the New Year. It's fine to think about the New Year, but don't forget about Jesus. When a baby is born, do you forget about him or her the day after he or she is born? Of course not. For weeks and months afterwards, the baby is cuddled and pampered. Continue to worship Jesus. Offer sacrifices for those that you love and for the offenses committed against Jesus Christ, the tiny Babe in the manger.

It's Christmas Eve

Image
On this day before Christmas, people are rushing around everywhere. Some are wrapping their presents. Some are buying them. Some people are decorating, or even putting up their Christmas trees. Hot cocoa runneth over, with marshmallows floating in the top. Christmas cookies are laying around for anyone to munch on. There is even fudge and all kinds of chocolate. Ugly sweater Christmas parties are fun to go to, and Christmas classics are a must to watch. There are dances to dress up for and eggnog to sip (if you like eggnog, which I don't). When you go to Church, the scene changes. Sure, there are decorations everywhere, but what is with those purple and pink candles? That signifies Advent, the preparation period for Christmas. Advent is almost over now. Tomorrow, it will be over. All four candles will be lit, along with a white one in the middle. In fact, tonight for the vigil Mass, they will all be lit. The choir will sing in unison. Maybe your Church has a Christmas pageant. Ou

Love's Abiding Joy

Image
As a part of the Janette Oke movie series, Love's Abiding Joy is a classic to carry you through tough times. Or, if you're not going through a rough spot, it will show your blessings. Missie and her husband have set up a homestead and they have three children. Missie's father comes to visit. A tragic event takes place, but faith and love rescue the day. Missie teaches in a small schoolhouse.  There is also a love story, along with a plotting character. All in all, the costumes are rich, the acting superb, and the story is absolutely unforgettable.

I have decided upon my style of choice: a french twist. I have   a video.

What to Wear...to the Christmas dance!

Image
This is the necklace I got to wear with my dress. I bought it from Macy's. It was on sale for only $7! These earrings were at Claire's. They were having some kind of deal with buy one, get one 50% off, so I got these for $2.25. Such a steal! Last but not least, my dress! I wore this for a musical I was in recently, and they kindly let me borrow it. It is slightly above the knee.

Welcome to Stephanie's Style of Living!

This is so exciting for me to start up my first blog! Welcome, and I hope you'll enjoy reading my posts just as much as I enjoy writing them. I plan to write about anything about life. I am a Catholic young lady and that fact will reflect in much of my musings. I love style, jewelry, movies, books, musicals, dancing, music, acting, singing, kittens, dogs, and lots of other things. I am not very good at cooking, but I hope to get better at that. I clean a lot, so I know how to do that pretty well.  I'm a huge fan of social networking, though Facebook is the only thing that I use. I hope to have a page on there that corresponds with this blog. I'm currently a college student at a local community college. I'm just getting my AA degree. So far I've taken art appreciation, English, accounting, learning skills, and IT 100. I really like technology stuff. About my style when it comes to clothes: I believe in dressing modestly, not to distract. To bring greater glory
