My Minimalist Life

Okay, so yeah, the title of this post is pretty much a joke. I'm not a minimalist. I heard once how a saint, when he or she wanted to acquire a certain virtue, acted as if he or she had it already. This is how new habits are formed. You act like you own it already, and then, over time, it will become yours.

So pretty much I want to be a minimalist. The fact that I'm not, well, that's irrelevant I guess. I want to be one so badly. I want my life to be simpler. I've been surrounded by clutter either by my own making or other's my entire life and I want it to stop. I'm not saying that everywhere I've been has been cluttered. A lot of places aren't, and those places make me feel peaceful. I'm saying that clutter doesn't help me, and the only way I've been able to discover that is to be in simple surroundings. Simple really is better. I truly believe that. Think of how this world was created. There was a simple seven-day plan, and then God rested on the seventh day. Yes, there is complexity in this world, and God created it, but there is a difference between complexity and chaos. Clutter begets chaos. I hate chaos. It makes me feel stressed.

I know that the journey to my minimalist life will be long and hard. I don't care. I want it so badly that I'm willing to do whatever it takes. There's a plethora of websites out there that I'm sure can help. *Sigh* This is going to be a big challenge because I'm not used to it. I want to thank those who have this habit down. Who naturally live as minimalists. Who have inspired me to start this journey because I want the peace and the space that you have. I pray that God blesses you all in a very special way.

That being said, there's clutter in my life. Not just physical clutter but spiritual clutter. Emotional clutter. Extra stuff in my life that I don't need and that's hindering my life journey. I'll be logging this journey on this blog. Follow along if you like.

God bless you!
Stephanie
