Life is a Series of Purges

I almost don't have to say anything else; the title truly says it all this time. You may think this is a depressing title. I don't think so. Purging is necessary. If you put off purging, you will experience the effects of it, and they are negative. Trust me, from someone who knows.

You've probably heard the saying, "Let Go and let God." This basically means to let go of your own idea of how things are supposed to be going and to instead let God handle things. This doesn't mean giving up and being inactive about your situation, but I digress. Going back to the saying to let go and let God handle things...well, let's just say I'm terrible at that. I'm going to focus on the first part of the saying. So you don't have to go back a whole two sentences to check, it's "let go."

Let go? Why would I want to let go? I like my life the way it is! I don't like change! Hold on a second. Is that why you're so satisfied with life? I don't know, maybe you are. I'm getting there. But along the way, I've had to let go. Because until you let go, you won't be able to let God in

Letting God into your life is a huge important step in getting to where you hopefully want to be. God is a Gentleman; He won't force Himself into your life. But know that He loves you so much that He wants nothing more fiercely than to be with you in Heaven and for all eternity, including now. All of His actions indicate that love. Are you willing to purge in exchange for such a priceless gift? I don't deserve such a thing. Nobody does. That's the thing about God though; He doesn't measure our worthiness; He measures our love for Him.

What does your love for God say about you? Do your actions indicate that you love God? Think about it. I sure have been pondering this lately. It isn't enough just to tell God you love Him. He loves to hear that, but if your actions don't match up with your vocal or mental prayer, don't waste your time. It's as simple as that.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm on this journey and I'm just trying to share it with you. The new year always gets me thinking about what I want to change, and every year it's different. Some things stay the same but life is always changing. This wasn't going to be a spiritual post to start off with but God had other ideas (thank you Holy Spirit, third Person of the Blessed Trinity!) :)

Have a great evening, and may God bless you!
Stephanie
