Long Time No See!
I want to apologize for being absent for so long. My computer at home makes it very difficult to create new posts because of computer issues. I'll solve that problem by either one at the library or using the school's connection with my own laptop. I miss blogging.
So basically this will be a catch-up post. I've had so many things on my mind and no way to let you all know about them! Sad day. Okay, moving on.
It is now November, and Thanksgiving will be coming upon us pretty quick here. Notice that Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet. I point that out to you to comment on the holiday season.
It is only November 14th. Advent, the preparation period for the Christmas season, hasn't even come upon us. So if you're already celebrating Christmas by playing Christmas music, having Christmas decorations up, or other traditions that belong to that season, how about putting that on hold?
Please don't shop on Thanksgiving. I'm not going to. If you are shopping, then people are working, and if people are working, they aren't spending time with their families. Thanksgiving is a day to relax and give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives and especially the gift of freedom in this country (United States).
If you're having Thanksgiving at your house, here are a few tips I found at http://www.rachaelraymag.com/.
Cluster sturdy fresh herbs, like rosemary and sage, on top of napkins and silverware. Thread name tags with ribbons and tie each set together.
Fold card stock in half and cut out hats. Add a construction paper buckle and guests' names. Cut a slit to place on glass rims.
Tell guests how thankful you are for them with a heartfelt thank-you note that doubles as a place card. Letter-stamp initials on the envelopes to mark guests' spots.
This ends the segment from Rachael Ray.
Thanks for reading! Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
