In our lives, there are so many sources of noise and confusion. My motive for having this blog is to provide a source of quiet for your mind and more importantly, for your soul. I want every post to be wrapped in calm assurance in God's love.

+ J.M.J. I'm finally getting to this topic, but I honestly have no idea where to begin. For most of my life, the Holy Spirit, for me, was an abstract Being Whom I had almost no personal relationship with. I knew that He was the third Person of the Blessed Trinity and came down upon me during the Sacrament of Confirmation, but I didn't pray to Him almost ever. I mean, in pictures, He looked like a Dove. A Bird of some kind. How was I supposed to pray to a Winged Creature without feeling foolish? That was my logic, I guess, as subconscious as it was. I didn't really grow up with the charismatic movement. So when I went to a Holy Spirit healing retreat a couple of months ago, I was not prepared at all for what was to come. I won't share a lot about that retreat on this blog. If you want to know, you can ask me personally. Suffice it to say that I got to know that the Holy Spirit was definitely very real. I believed in Him before the retreat, but I was ...
+ J.M.J. That's right, folks. The picture says it all. And a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'm done. Just kidding. No, but really, I've been procrastinating about writing this review because I really disliked it. Pretty much the only thing I enjoyed about it was spending time with my friends, which has nothing to do with the movie whatsoever. *Sigh* I digress, on purpose. Procrastination session is over. Now for what I didn't like. Any Christian/Catholic watching this movie would have plenty of opportunity to be offended if he or she was paying attention. There were a lot of jokes made at our expense as church-goers, and the center of operations occupied by the bad guy was in a church. Not exactly what I love to see (to put it mildly). There was even a joke about a "Catholic rabbit." Do I need to explain further? Usually I try to find at least one redeeming quality, and often I don't need to look that hard. Here, I really...
Yesterday I was shopping and I was noticing that there were a great abundance of products that had celebrities' pictures on them. This is nothing new. But it struck me with new force that their only intent is to get us, the consumers, to buy what the celebrity's face is on. Why is their face on it? Their name? Do they actually use it? Do they know if it's a good product? Or is it just to get us to put it in our cart? I think that the latter is true. Why should I buy something just because a celebrity's name and face is on it? Do you realize that those pictures have been edited? Nobody actually looks that perfect, and you won't either, just because you use that particular product. Nobody is going to look like them, because no one is computer-edited and generated in real life. I realize that I am asking a lot of questions here, but maybe you should consider doing that when you shop. Ask questions. Why do you want to buy this? Is it really all that it says it is? I...
