My Lenten Plan

For Lent this year, I'm going to give up Facebook. It's going to be hard, but I really like Facebook, so it'll be a good sacrifice. For some people, having the thing that you gave up on Sundays makes the rest of the time harder; however, I'll be just giving it up for the whole forty days. I won't be getting on again until Easter. For my profile picture, I'm doing that pro-life one going around the night before Ash Wednesday.

For my extra thing, I'm going to be reading the New Testament in the Bible. I don't know if I'll get all the way through it reading a chapter a day, but I should.

Try to listen to at least an hour of Christian/Catholic artists a day in place of secular tunes. Some good artists include The Thirsting, Donna Cori Gibson, Eric Genuis, Christian radio stations like K-LOVE, and Ike Ndolo.

Try to get to confession at least once this Lenten season. Your soul and Jesus will thank you for it.

Remember that Easter will come quickly and all your sacrifices will make the upcoming joyous Easter season all the more joyous! Have a good Lent everyone. I will be posting religious entries throughout Lent.

  I'm turning 31 tomorrow. What has my 30th year of life been like? I'll tell you. I spent months in bed. I had pushed myself so hard for so long that this was all I could do. I received many treatments from multiple mental health professionals that were ineffective and damaging. Friends reached out to me and helped out during my darkest times. I advocated for myself and obtained an ADHD diagnosis. I Got a Hair Trim

Yesterday, I got my hair trimmed. I hadn't done that since last December. My bangs were getting pretty long, and I got them cut to be blunt. My hair is pretty long (almost below my chest) and I just got it trimmed. I did the slightly choppy effect for some edge. I've never been wild about my hair. The most daring I've gotten is to dye my hair dark red, still a natural hue, but some people who knew me well could tell I'd dyed it. Still, though my hair's back to its natural color these days, it fluctuates from light to dark in the summer and winter months and people who haven't seen me in awhile think I've dyed it darker. Below is a picture that is kind of what I'm talking about, but it's from December of last year.
